1. Aerobic exercise 2 to 3 times a week.

Aerobic exercises are the ones that cause you to breathe hard. Examples include: running, swimming, and biking. Whichever form of exercise you enjoy more is the one I would recommend doing. If you hate running but love biking, then choose biking because it will be easier to push yourself passed your limits if you are doing something you like. The best time do aerobic exercise is in the morning before you eat breakfast. The reasoning behind this is simple. If you don’t have any food giving you energy, then your body pulls the energy from your fat stores. So, you are using your body’s natural processes to make your exercise more efficient. You don’t need to torture yourself with hour long runs every morning. A short, but medium-high effort, 30 minute run 2 to 3 times a week would be a great place to start.

2. Lift weights 2 to 3 times a week (barbell or dumbbell, NOT machines)

Your body is constantly adapting. One of those adaptations is called muscle partitioning. Muscle partitioning is your body’s way of deciding how much you eat you goes to fat stores and how much you eat goes to muscle stores. Aerobic exercise will help shift partitioning towards muscle growth, but weightlifting really tips the scales with muscle partitioning. This should make sense. People lift weights to build strong muscles, so the body adapts and focuses on building more muscle than fat. If you are a woman, you may be a little off put about the idea of lifting weights. You might have an image in your head of yourself with huge rippling muscles like a bodybuilder’s. Well let me reassure you, this WILL NOT happen to you. Women do not have the testosterone levels to build huge muscles. Instead your muscles will tone and be more firm. You are not going to get big ripped arms, but instead your arms will be toned and won’t flap in the wind when you wave. Again, it is not NATURAL for women to get huge muscles. So do not worry about that. Some of you may also be wondering why I specifically said to avoid machines. The reason is that machines work specific muscles, but your body doesn’t ever just use one specific muscle in life. No one ever just uses their hamstrings, or just their bicep. They use their legs as a group. That is why I suggest barbell or dumbbell exercises because they generally target entire groups of muscles. When an entire group is worked, you see better results because you are lifting in a way that is more natural. And natural is what we want.

3. Dieting

Dieting is very important. You have to make sure you are eating enough to maintain a healthy energy level, but also not so much that you aren’t losing the weight you want. Your diet can dramatically improve your exercise and lifting results. Find out what your daily needs are in carbs, protein, fat, and total calories. Using this information, make a simple diet plan that will meet these needs. At first, this may be tough, but if you stick it out for a week or two, diet planning will become second nature to you. Make sure you try to eat at least 4 meals a day of about equal proportion with breakfast being slightly bigger. Two quick notes: you MUST eat breakfast, and don’t eat within 3 hours of heading to bed. These two fairly simple steps are extremely important because they take advantage of your body’s natural processes.

Using these three simple steps, you will be well on your way to losing the excess pounds that have been plaguing you. These aren’t very hard to implement into your life, and they really will make a huge difference. Have you ever watched a little girl eat an ice cream cone?

Many of us have the wrong idea about fasting, particularly when it is used for weight loss. However fasting is a common method used to promote weight loss and general wellbeing. Fasting is not starving ourselves in order to reduce our calorie intake or about punishing ourselves to shed those unwanted excess pounds.

We should instead look at fasting as a way to overhaul of our dietary habits.

If we are carrying excess weight, we have probably been guilty of employing some bad habits that caused our weight to escalate. Perhaps we eat lots of junk food, do very little exercise, and neglect our body in general. Maybe we over-indulge on sweets, drink too much alcohol or sugary soda drinks and eat excessively large potions of food. Perhaps we are guilty of all the examples above.

Fasting is an excellent way of banishing these bad habits and progressing to a healthier lifestyle.

As with many issues regarding aspects of weight loss, fasting can be challenging, especially if we have never tried it before. There are several forms of fasting, some of which are much easier for beginners. One of the most common types of fasting is water fasting. Water fasting involves eating no solid food for a period of 1 to 30 days. This is the more extreme and challenging form of fasting, but there are alternative e easier methods such as juice fasting and partial fasting.

Partial fasting involves abstaining from certain foods, or fasting for only part of each day. For example we could drink fruit and vegetable juice for breakfast and dinner, but eat a small nutritious lunch. Juice fasting involves drinking freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice (not bottled varieties) several times throughout each day.

Beginners would be better off starting with a more gentle form of fasting such as juice fasting or partial fasting, gradually building up to a more intense form of fasting if they have the inclination.

Once we have fasted for a couple of days, we need to gradually make the transition into eating solid food once again. However the solid foods which we will be consuming will be much different from the ones that we normally eat. Instead of reverting back to eating unhealthy foods, we have to consume nutritious, wholesome, natural foods. This will promote weight loss and improve our general health and wellbeing.

We should bear in mind that it is not necessary or advisable to fast until we have lost our excess weight. If we need to lose 5 to 10 pounds, then we may be successful and lose all this weight during a fast. If we need to lose in excess of 20 pounds, it is highly unlikely that we will shed all this weight during a fast. It is the actions and steps that we take after the fast which will help us to lose the remaining weight.

We need to be aware that fasting may not be safe for all of us so it is advisable to consult a doctor before embarking on a fast, particularly if we are taking medication or are having treatment for an illness or condition. How much is a Person Allowed to Eat on this Diet?

As Dr. Simeons designed it, a person can exist on 500 calories per day. While this is more than most people eat at one meal, it does not bother someone on the HCG weight loss plan due to a suppressed appetite. Dieters are encouraged to drink plenty of water and eat vegetables. The body can maintain on much less than most people believe, and the 500-calorie diet is not continued indefinitely. The weight loss program is designed to be followed for about a month.

How Does Someone Prepare for the HCG Program?

With any diet, it is important to begin in a physically and mentally healthy state. If a doctor is going to give the HCG injections, he or she will take blood tests and check out the general condition of the person going on the diet. Anyone who intends to self inject the HCG should still get a clean bill of health from a doctor prior to beginning the program. No other preparations are necessary before the diet begins.

The HCG diet is for those serious about losing weight. It should never be continued for more than 40 days in a row, and should be discontinued when the doctor recommended weight loss is reached. However, keep in mind that benefits continue for most dieters after they lose their desired weight.
