If you’re overweight chances are you have a digestive enzyme deficiency. This type of deficiency is common because of our modern American diet. When we eat healthy foods, our body gets a good supply of enzymes directly from these foods. Digestive enzyme manufacturers are selling a lot of their products because there aren’t enough enzymes in the processed foods typically eaten on our North American diet. An enzyme deficiency means that your body won’t be able to digest the food you eat properly. Now you have two problems; you aren’t getting enough nutrients from your food, and the food that you’re eating isn’t being digested properly. The human body has great powers to heal anything that’s not working properly but, your body can only do so much on what it’s given. Why do people develop enzyme deficiencies? Eating too many high processed foods, drinking pasteurized foods from cans, cartons and bottles. Talking medication. All these work against you to clog the colon and liver, which then cause a lot of other problems such as slow digestion, and a slow metabolism. When you have a slow metabolism, you can never lose weight. Why you’re overweight Think about this; if you ate only whole, natural foods (think garden of Eden!) which were organically grown, contained no preservatives, chemicals pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics, and the breads and rice and pasta you ate contained whole, unrefined grain, you would not be fat! You’re overweight because the food you are eating most of the time, does not contain nutrients like powerful digestive enzymes to properly break down the food. This causes your biggest problem; powerful food cravings. When your body doesn’t get the needed enzymes from food it has to get them from it’s own metabolic system. This causes our bloodstream, immune system and other areas to suffer and because of this extra work load, the pre-mature aging process goes up a notch. Enzyme supplements Many enzyme supplements on the market aren’t made with your health in mind, surprised? They are made and marketed to make money. This is your problem because they contain fillers and chemicals and these cause allergies not to mention a lot of other potential problems. Remember, every chemical and drug has a bad, negative affect on your body. Kill the cravings To be rid of the intense food cravings that are making you gain more weight every day, you need to add powerful digestive enzymes to your diet. Eat fresh fruits, raw vegetables and chew them very well to give them a better chance of getting digested. An important point to consider is buying organic fruits and vegetable, otherwise you’ll be ingesting a lot of pesticides, herbicides, and growth hormones, which negate the nutrients and enzymes you would have otherwise received. Do this and you will restock the enzyme deficiency, and add many more nutrients in your body, helping you to overcome food cravings. Weight Loss Tips – Losing Weight May Be Easier Than You Think
November 13th, 2011 § 0
Weight loss is a goal that some people can easily do while others try for years and fail. Unfortunately, the majority of dieters do fail. But by following some simple weight loss tips and guidelines, you might find that losing weight may not be so hard after all. Stop eating at restaurants. This is many people’s biggest weight loss mistake. It doesn’t matter if you intend on eating a salad, once you walk into a restaurant you may be overcome with smells and temptations. A salad turns into a chicken breast dinner with buttery bread, fattening sauces, and more starch than any weight loss program would recommend. Pack your own lunches, plan breakfast and dinners ahead of time and stick to it. Keep motivating post-its around your kitchen and work space to remind you of your goals. Pack your lunch the night before so you don’t run out of time in the morning. These tips may take practice but will be worth it in the end. Eat more than salad and less bread. For example; if you are used to sandwiches for lunch, swap your traditional sandwich for a wrap. These are lower in calories and these days you can even find low carb wraps at your local market. Be sure to include plenty of fresh vegetables either in your sandwich or on the side. If possible, start each lunch and dinner with a fresh salad to get your enzymes and metabolism revving. Put down the diet soda. Recent research shows that even diet sodas are not conducive to any weight loss program. In fact, one study from The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio showed that dieters who drank diet soda on a regular basis had 70% larger waistlines than those who didn’t. Another study showed diet sodas raised blood sugar in diabetes-prone mice. Instead of soda, opt for water with fresh lemon squeezed into it. Drink diluted fruit juice; about 3/4 water and 1/4 fresh juice. Also look for green and herbal teas. Allow your body and taste buds to enjoy the fresher flavors. Fresh water and teas will help your body flush waste and excess weight. It will keep your body hydrated better than any soda if you drink throughout the day. This is one of the easiest and healthiest changes you can make. Exercise just a little. If you are used to exercise, then keep at it. Strive for at least 30 minutes a day if you are trying to lose weight and if your health permits. If you are not used to exercise and you hate even the thought of it – start small. Try exercising 10 minutes at first. Ten minutes is mentally easier to think about than longer. You may be surprised at how quickly ten minutes goes by; especially if you find a fun exercise. There are many DVD’s that boast 10 minute exercise routines. You could also jog, bike or walk. If weather does not allow, go into a gym or get some home equipment. The trick is to making exercise part of your lifestyle is to start somewhere. Many people enthusiastically go from no exercise to 40 minutes of exercise. After a week or two life starts getting in the way as that 40 minutes become a lot longer with clothes changes, showering and so on. This makes it easy to quit. So think about ten minutes instead, because some is better than none. Keep a journal. Some of us may have a hard time sticking to a weight loss plan due to stress, emotional eating and so on. Starting a journal to learn your issues may be key in solving them or getting help. Be honest with yourself and write down things like; what makes you stressed? Why are you overweight? Do you exercise and eat right? Are you sure? Answering these an other questions might help you see your shortcomings so you can work with them or around them. No matter what you do, forgive yourself if you slip. Eating pizza one night will not ruin your entire weight loss program unless you let it. Most people “fall off the wagon,” then assume the mentality of “I’ll start tomorrow.” Don’t do this to yourself. If you eat pizza, keep the mindset that you are still on your weight loss path; you just took a meal off. Get right back on track and continue to go for your goals. Hopefully some of these helped. Do whatever it takes to stay on your path. Choose a healthy weight loss program. Talk to your doctor if you have health issues. And be kind to yourself because practice makes perfect; even when it comes to weight loss. Cindy Papp is a Certified Nutritional Counselor. Find more or try a for something different.
Weight Loss Tips – Great Technique for Drinking More Water Each Day
November 1st, 2011 § 0
I’m willing to bet that you don’t drink enough water throughout the day. Sorry, I’m not trying to single you out. I’m guilty of this too. Americans in general do not drink enough water throughout the day. Surprised? You shouldn’t be. It seems as though Americans in general fail to meet just about every minimum daily requirement for just about every nutrient. But that rant is for another day. So this little article is really about the benefits that water can have on your health and with your weight loss goals. Why is water so important you ask? Well aside from making up over 60% of our body, water helps to transport nutrients, carry away waste products, pad joints and the spinal chord, acts as a lubricant throughout the body, and regulates body temperature. Oh yeah, and did I also mention that drinking more water can help speed up your fat loss? How, you ask? I’ll give you three simple, yet convincing reasons that drinking water can contribute to and even help speed up your fat loss: 1. Water helps you feel fuller. Therefore, people who drink lots of water tend to be less hungry at each meal and as a result eat fewer calories. How Much is Enough? Drinking More Water Each Day Now, I know that it’s one thing for me to tell you the benefits of drinking water and demand that you drink massive amounts every day (a half gallon to 1 full gallon per day ought to do the trick). But I also know that something as simple as drinking more water can be pretty difficult, especially if you’re like the millions of Americans who just don’t drink water on a daily basis. We’re used to drinking juice, iced tea, and soda with our meals, and these habits are hard to break…and, might I add, enemies of fat loss! Well, I’ve developed a little and really simple technique for making sure that you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day (as opposed to soda, juices, and other sugary drinks that do nothing but make us fat and give us bad breath). It’s really simple and will help to make it easier for you to drink water throughout the day. If you’d like to learn more about this method and other simple for drinking more water, feel free to hop on over to my blog at
2. Drinking more water means that you have less time to guzzle those nutrient empty, calorie packed drinks like fruit juice (yes, I said fruit juice), soda, and sweetened iced tea.
3. Drinking water may actually help to increase your metabolism
Weight Loss Tips for Women: Creating Your Action Plan for Weight Loss Success
June 1st, 2011 § 0
When you’re attempting to lose weight, a Success Action Plan or Lifestyle Plan is absolutely essential. At least it is if you want to avoid joining the staggering 90-95% of people (many of them women) who embark on a diet only to end up putting back on all the weight they lost, and often more. This high failure rate amongst dieters can almost always be attributed to either not having any kind of plan to keep them on track, or having a vague plan that focuses solely on the diet, without addressing the many other important factors in weight loss and weight gain. According to the well-known saying, “those who fail to plan, plan to fail”. And in my experience working in health promotion and specialising in behaviour change for the best part of the last twenty years, I’ve found that it’s true. If you’re really serious about losing weight and keeping it off for good, then it’s worth taking the time to make a sound plan to ensure your success. As the name suggests, your Lifestyle Plan considers your individual lifestyle. It’s also more focused on incorporating realistic achievements into your schedule, rather than simply relying on superficial quick fixes which often lead to only short-term gains. Just as important, your Lifestyle Plan takes into account the multi-dimensional nature of losing weight and will therefore increase your chances of success. Once you’ve evaluated where you currently are, against where you’d like to be, you should, of course set yourself SMART goals along with a step by step plan of how you will arrive at your destination. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed and form the foundation of your Lifestyle Plan. You should have long and short-term goals and your plan can address different aspects to suit you such as food, activity, stress management, relaxation, fun, and support, strategies for motivation or dealing with cravings, celebration and reward and so on. NB. These are just suggestions; the main thing is to keep it simple, personal and SMART. Your Lifestyle plan provides structure and gives you a framework for success. It also helps you to introduce new healthy habits which each have positive physical and psychological health benefits. Your new healthy habits become your new focus, keep you busy and replace previous unhealthy or negative habits that contributed to your weight in the first place. All in all a recipe for success. ©2011 Linda Stewart – The Healthy Living Company Linda Stewart, the Healthy Living Coach, is a Women’s Coach, Reiki Practitioner, Healthy Living Expert and founder of The Healthy Living Club. Well done if you have been able to lose some weight. The challenge now is to stay slim permanently. You have been working hard week after week to lose weight. You made some sacrifices to reach your goal and you don’t want to go back again – seeing your weight increase. No matter which method you choose to shed those pounds, the reality is for most people, the weight tends to come back. Can anything be done to avoid this? Here are some weight loss tips to help women stay slim:- When you see you weights increasing, make it a point to lose them. For people who have successfully lost weight and maintain their body shape, they will weigh themselves for at least twice a week. You need to monitor your body weight weekly and keep a record of it. When you notice a pound or two has sunk in, take action to lose them. Don’t delay in taking action as you don’t want to see your weight going up again. You need to plan for your snacks, a healthy one, instead of just grabbing any snacks that come along. Buy and put these healthy snacks in places that are easily accessible by you. Do not forget to include some protein and carbohydrates in your snack as they are important too. You can have occasional ‘bad treats’ just to satisfy your temptation. Remember to keep these foods in small portion so that you will not take too much sugar or calories. The purpose of these ‘bad treats’ are only to keep you from thinking about these foods all the time; it is not to fill your stomach. Once you have a taste of the foods, then it is unlikely that you will crave for it. Identify the foods that trigger your temptation and avoid them. Keep them out of your sight to reduce the likelihood of you eating them. I guess this is in line with the sayings, “Out of sight, out of mind.” You need to identify the tools that help you to shed those pounds; not just any tools or methods, but tools that have been proven to help you lose weight. If you need to record down every single food that you eat then do it; if you need to exercise then do it. Do everything that you can. You have gone through the process before and you know what works and what doesn’t. If you can’t recall the methods, perhaps it is good for you to revisit your past to get these methods working for you again. Do not believe that weight gain is unavoidable. You can take action and work on it. With all these weight loss tips mentioned above, I am sure you will be able to stay slim permanently. Discover the secrets to effortless weight loss by visiting
Weight Loss Tips – Staying Committed
March 21st, 2011 § 0
OK, so you searched for your weight loss tips. Then made up your mind. This time things were going to change. Then you even started that diet and exercise regiment. You were on a roll. Who knew you could do it. The confidence is building. Your feeling pretty good and then it happens, it always does. You fill in the blank. I can give you a few scenarios. Say you have a wife and kids and they were begging for those cookies and mommy not one to disappoint well guess what now that cookie aroma waves through the house and you walk in. Cheating here we come. Another one. You go out with friends and go to a nice restaurant. Man those sliders and fries smell good. What do you do? One more for you. It is those special occasions. Christmas, the Super Bowl. Your birthday. All these represent the same thing. They are all opportunities to cheat. Times when you look yourself in the eye and say all those times I worked so hard but man it would be worth it to give in just this once. Then you even tell yourself hey it is one time so I pig out the one time and then I will be good. There is one problem once you have binged it is a lot harder to get back on course. This scenario certainly happened to me. I had decided this was it. I was going to get this done. I started on the treadmill thirty minutes a night. I also did pushups and situps. I watched my carbs. I switched to whole grains instead of white flour. Now I know they say there are so many diets out there. There are that is true. However the premise is the same. You make a change in your life and then somewhere along the line it happens. My biggest hiccup was the family vacation. The hotel did not have a gym but it had a pool. So I swam. But I also went out to eat a lot, came home late many times and was too exhausted to exercise. The regiment was broken and with that the continued commitment to my dream was too. Now am I saying that therefore give up on everything, absolutely not. I am here to tell you do not give in. The program will be for not. But do give in. Am I confusing you? I hope so. The idea is to balance yourself. If you really want to change and have those weight loss tips pay off then you have to understand that it is not about the extremes. You will crash and burn quickly. Think about it. If you deprive yourself of everything then the very first think you try, you are going to want more and more and more of that until you are well off course and are crying on a couch somewhere as to what happened here. So my advice. Have a slider. You’ll enjoy and then pull back. So you stay five extra minutes on the treadmill. pounds you Better then five extra never expected. Charles Rappaport

You will lose weight if you burn more calories each day than you consume, that is the reality of weight loss. The really great news is that whenever you are moving around, you are burning calories, so it is very important that you strive to become as active as possible. Even small changes to your daily routine and lifestyle can add up to make a real difference to your weight and fitness level. With a little thought and effort, we can all lead a more active life. But leading a more active lifestyle does not have to be time consuming or involve hours on the treadmill or pumping iron. Start by taking a good look at your daily lifestyle and activity levels. The following questions will help you evaluate how active your current lifestyle is: – Do you perform a physical job or are you mainly sitting down at work? Do you tend to drive or use the bus the majority of the time, even for short journeys? Do you spend long periods of your spare time sitting down watching television? Do you regularly perform an activity that raises your heart rate? After answering the above questions, you will have a better idea of how active your lifestyle is. If you have turned into a bit of couch potato, then don’t panic as it is never to late to become more active. Leading A More Active Lifestyle If you want to lose weight, becoming more active is a great goal to aim for. Before you change your habits, you need to change your thinking. Look for opportunities throughout each day to become more active, it is easier than you think as any amount of movement is better than none. Here are a few suggestions to keep you more active: – Start walking to work and the local shops. Use the stairs whenever possible. Go for a walk during your lunch hour. Pace around while you are on the phone. Get up during the commercial breaks and walk around the house. Turn the TV off once a week and go and do a sports activity or something else physical. Weight Loss Tips – Do You Have A Willingness To Change?
March 17th, 2011 § 0
It can be all to easy to view losing weight as a temporary measure, an inconvenience to be overcome as quickly as possible (usually with crash diets). This is totally the wrong approach to weight loss, you have to view losing weight as developing permanent healthy lifestyle habits rather than as a temporary fix achieved by making drastic cuts to your daily calorie intake. How Healthy Is Your Current Lifestyle? Your current weight and state of health is a result of your lifestyle and the choices you make on a daily basis, this is a fact you have to accept if you want to lose weight. Take responsibility for where you are today and vow to do something about it. In order to recognise where and how you can make healthy changes, you need to analyse your current lifestyle and eating habits. Does a regular day or week for you involve any of the following:
Once you take a really good look at your lifestyle, it becomes obvious why you over-weight or out of shape. Developing a beer belly or a double chin takes time, and can be a result of months living an unhealthy lifestyle. Once you have identified unhealthy habits and behaviour, you can start to do something about it. Some activities (such as sitting at a desk or driving) may be unavoidable, but you must still strive to be more active. Why not walk to and from work, start taking the stairs or go for a walk in your lunch hour? A Willingness To Change Recognising that you have to change your lifestyle (and where) in order to achieve permanent weight loss is only half the battle, you must also posses a real willingness to change. You need to take positive action, start making some positive changes. Get in the habit of regularly:
Try doing less from list 1 and more from list 2 in order to live a healthier lifestyle. A recognition of the need for change, backed up by a willingness to change and taking positive action, will lead to permanent weight loss and a healthy lifestyle. Weight Loss Tips – The Psychology Of A Winner
March 11th, 2011 § 0
Do you want to lose weight or maybe you would like to earn more money? Are you looking for a more fulfilling career or a more deep and loving relationship? Why is it that some people seem to achieve these things, while others simply move from one disaster to another? Are some people more lucky than others or is it all down to fate, is our destiny already planned out for us? I believe that we make our own luck in this world, that we are the masters of our own destiny. Take A Look At Successful People I read a lot of autobiographies written by high achievers and I urge you to do the same. One thing that you will soon realise from reading some of these amazing life stories, is that these remarkable people are quite similar to ourselves (particularly in the early days). They had doubts, fears, struggles and lots of failures, just like the rest of us. It can be easy to think that successful people have always had it easy and have just glided effortlessly through life on their way to the top, but this is rarely the case. However they did have certain qualities which enabled them succeed, the great news is that these qualities are not exclusive to them, we can all acquire them. The Qualities Of A Winner Successful people tend to view things quite differently, looking for opportunities and thinking about possibilities rather than looking for obstacles and thinking of excuses. They have a positive outlook and attitude, rather than a head crammed with negative thoughts. Lets take a look at some of the qualities possessed by successful people: - Positive Self-Esteem If someone pays you a compliment do you accept it with grace or rather awkwardly ridicule yourself to justify it or play it down? This is a good gauge of where your self-esteem is at and what sort of opinion you have of yourself. The way that you see yourself will manifest itself in your body language and actions. Poor self-esteem will lead to poor confidence, anxiety and fears which will only hold you back in life. Start recognising your unique abilities and talents, learn to celebrate your successes. A positive self-image will change the way you project yourself on to others, people will notice the difference. Self-Discipline Self-discipline should not be viewed as a punishment or something negative, but rather a positive quality that you should aspire to. Winners make sacrifices and invest time to get where they want to be. Rather than just focusing on their present circumstances, they look at the bigger picture, making goals and working consistently towards them. All successful people practice self-discipline, prioritising and valuing their time. Skipping an hour of television to exercise or study are good examples of self-discipline. A Competitive Nature Successful people like to win, and winning is a great habit to acquire. Challenging yourself to constantly do your best, will keep you focused and motivated to achieve your goals. Successful people tend to be very driven and have a determination to succeed, they have developed a “winners never quit” mentality. If you want to lose weight or succeed at anything else in life for that matter, then you need to develop the psychology of a winner. Would you like to learn how to lose weight fast and keep it off? Maybe you are looking to or then I can help. My online weight loss resource offers you the opportunity to sign up for free weight loss tips.
