Burn Fat by Playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band

December 6th, 2011 § 0

Both Guitar Hero and Rock Band can be great fun for your weight loss routine. Regardless of what game system you possess, you can effectively burn fat by playing drums, if not playing a wireless guitar or singing into a microphone. You hand-eye coordination can benefit as well. If you want to mix things up and lose the most calories, you can always play Guitar Hero and Rock Band while on a treadmill or stationary bike. Now, doesn’t jamming out to some Aerosmith sound a bit more exciting than jogging every morning through your neighborhood?

Think about most of the professional musicians who you listen to. I bet that a majority of the rock stars you like have thin frames, rather than visible belly fat. Just don’t include any well-known personalities that bite the heads off of rodents.

Many folks do not realize that playing rock on a video game can actually be extremely good for losing belly fat. In actually, you are burning a number of calories with every drum beat, swipe of the wireless guitar and jump into the air that your body performs while singing. Physically speaking, participating in either Guitar Hero or Rock Band is not unlike performing for real on a stage. It’s not so easy to keep your arms or legs strumming, and banging away rock music for an extended period of time. It takes plenty of time and practice, as well as full body workouts to keep up with the Hard and Expert settings on your gaming system.

For every hour you spend on your feet playing guitar on either Guitar Hero or Rock Band, you are eliminating over 200 calories from your body. You can burn even more, roughly 275 calories, every hour that you spend banging away on the game systems’ drums. Drumming obviously burns much more fat than playing the guitar or singing into the mic. While the numbers constantly fluctuate, your body should be hitting 2,000 or 3,000 notes with each song played at either Hard or Expert level. No, the numbers are not equivalent to swimming laps in a pool to burn fat, but you can still lose a sufficient amount of weight while jamming out to your favorite tunes.

Remember, there are some weight loss tips for playing your games. Always warm up your arms and legs before playing drums. You should also experiment with different levels, perhaps on a stationary bike, to compare your different performances. See how many songs you have the energy to play. Can you do an entire album’s worth of material? Remember, the harder it is to play a song, the more calories are usually being burnt. So what are you waiting for? Quit slacking, and set up a gaming system to play Guitar Hero and Rock Band in your own living room. Playing virtual musical instruments is a fantastic way to burn fat quickly and live like a true rock star.

Since reaching my 40s, my belly has blown up like a balloon. I need to trim down before I get so out of shape that I have a lethal heart attack. I decided to ask my family doctor how to lose weight fast. First, he wrote me a prescription for HCG Injections. Then I was quite surprised when he claimed I could burn fat by playing either Guitar Hero or Rock Band on my kids’ Sony PlayStation. I never knew weight loss could be so much fun. Thanks Doc!

Will Lowering Calories Help Fat Loss?

December 3rd, 2011 § 0

Fat loss or weight loss is a huge industry in today’s world. You see all different types of diets, equipment and gimmicks that will claim losing weight in days without doing anything. Well, the truth is, none of them work. You have to eat right and exercise in order to lose weight. However, there are lots of confusions in the weight loss world.

There is one category of people who simply say, a calorie is a calorie and calories-in minus calories-out will calculate your weight loss. Then there is this other category of people who say that you need to be more specific. Lowering your calories would mean that your entire diet may comprise of sugar and nothing else, but as long as you are taking-in less calories than you require, you can lose weight. Well, it is true. You will lose weight (not necessarily FAT, but weight, probably), but is that really healthy? I know, this is not practical but you get the idea. Lowering your calories is not a very controlled method. The type of food matters a lot along with the calories.

We know three different types of macronutrients – Carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Now all of them have different pros and cons, so you can’t expect to lower whichever you want and lose fat. For example, simple carbohydrates (sugars) are the types of calories that our body loves, but the side effects that it brings are not great if you want to lose fat. There is a spike in your insulin level, which basically (at the end of the day) stores quite a few of these calories as fats for future us. However, if you eat the same amount of calories as proteins, then the following things happen:

- Increased thermal effect of the body as it is harder to breakdown proteins and more calories are used to break it down.

- No significant difference in insulin levels

These are just two benefits that are related to fat loss, but there are a lot of other benefits as well. The only drawback is too much protein over works your kidneys. So you need to drink a lot of water. Similarly if we look at fats, we get two different types of fats (saturated and unsaturated) but the same amount of calories. In both cases, 1 gram is equal to 9 calories and 100 grams would be equal to 900 grams but both have different properties. One helps you lose weight and other makes you gain fat so they are not entirely the same.

It is a tough job deciding what kind of foods will help you lose weight and what foods should be completely off limits. If you want to learn how to eat and what you, visit Fatless Formula

Good Fat – Bad Fat

August 21st, 2011 § 0

What The Heck Is That?

Raise your hand if you think that fat is bad for you and makes you fat. If you raised your had you are definitely not alone. For as long as I can remember I have been hearing that fat is bad for your health and one of the major causes of obesity. Well let’s get the story straight.

Ancel Keys developed military K-rations from research that he did on “selective studies” that indicated a link between fat and heart disease. What is missing from these studies is the differentiation between saturated fat and trans fats.

Your body needs fat, saturated fats, for so many functions. And the benefits of eating saturated fat is a long list.

  • Improved brain function,
  • liver function,
  • cardiovascular health (your heart uses saturated fats for energy),
  • lung, bone and immune system health
  • as well as making you feel happier.

The tissue in your brain is composed mostly of fat and cholesterol so reducing saturated fat leaves you with fewer resources to rebuild brain cells. Nerve signaling from brain to muscle and organ tissue is facilitated by saturated fats, especially those found in butter, coconut oil, lard and palm oil.

These messengers are necessary for proper communication between your brain and your immune system as well as your metabolic functions like maintaining proper hormone levels. Fatty acids assist white blood cell in recognizing and destroying foreign invaders.

The air spaces in your lungs are coated with surfactant which is comprised of 100% fatty acids the lack of which will lead to breathing difficulties as well as a higher rate of allergic symptoms.

Saturated fats protect your liver from the damaging effects of alcohol, acetaminophen and other drugs that are commonly used on a daily basis.

Research has shown that the addition of saturated fat reduces the level of lipoprotein that relates directly to the risk of heart disease.

Best of all is that studies have shown that dieters that eat more saturated fats tend to lose more weight than those that eat less!

Fatty acids perform necessary functions that we need to maintain healthy living such as:

  • transporting fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E & K as well as converting carotene to vitamin A
  • lauric acid acts as an anti-fungal and anti-plaque agent
  • palmitic and stearic acids lower cholesterol
  • caprylic acid is anti-viral
  • butyric acid modulates genetic regulation preventing cancer

What does increase our low density lipoprotein LDL is trans fat and partially hydrogenated fat. Manufacturers are now required to label foods with the quantities of trans fat and any amount is bad for your health.

Be careful when cooking with vegetable oils like canola and corn oil. These oils break down at high temperature and turn into trans fats. In fact the only oil that does not break down to any degree when heated is coconut oil.

From Fat to Fit

May 25th, 2011 § 0

The journey from being fat to becoming fit is an arduous one, with many twists and turns on the way. The most important aspect of this journey is to have faith in oneself and stay motivated.

Staying motivated:

A good majority of people fail in their fitness plans for the simple reason that they cannot stay motivated throughout the entire program. Some tips to help with motivation are as follows:

  • Goals should be well defined and achievable
  • Make use of favorite quotes or lines of songs to find motivation
  • Find an exercise partner if working out alone is not enjoyable
  • Write down current weight and size proportions
  • Maintain a food and weight diary

Fitness: 2 pronged approach

Many people fail in their journey towards fitness simply because they do not get the basics right.

Achieving fitness depends on two crucial aspects:

  1. Proper diet
  2. Regular exercise regimen

Diet: The basics

By the term ‘diet’, what is meant a proper form of nutrition, the kind of nutrition that supplies all the necessary nutrients in their right proportions to the body. It does not mean starving the body and depending on nutrient depletion to achieve weight loss.

Popular weight loss diets advocate nutrient depletion as the shortest route to weight loss. However, this route is fraught with dangers of many kinds. First, there is always the risk of ill health accompanying insufficient nutrition that manifests itself as tiredness, crankiness, frustration, skin problems, hair problems and dieter’s breath, to name a few. Punishing the body is by no way the best means to accomplish the fitness goal.

When trying to lose weight, it is important to watch the number of calories finding their way into the body. To lose weight, it is necessary to take in fewer calories than expended by the body. This calorie deficit ensures weight loss.

Instead of starving the body, feeding it the right kinds of foods and avoiding wrong foods must be the target. Proper foods include plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits and wholesome sources of complex carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

The daily diet must contain carbohydrates, proteins and fats in the ratio of 40:30:30. Attention must be paid to the source of these nutrients.

Hydration is a vital part of the diet program. It is important to take in 8-10 glasses of water. Water helps with detoxification and hunger control.

Exercise

Exercise ensures the optimal burning of calories. To achieve the correct calorie balance, it is important to counterbalance the food taken in with regular exercise.

Often overweight people focus entirely on aerobics exercises. Such an exercise program is at best incomplete and at worst quite unsuccessful in ensuring total fitness.

A good exercise plan is that which combines cardiovascular exercises with weight training.

Cardio – Aerobic exercises are best suited for weight loss. Some of the most effective exercises include walking, running, jogging, swimming, riding a stationary bike and so on. For aerobic exercises to produce results, it is necessary to perform exercises within the fat burning zone for at least 20-30 minutes. Cardio may be performed five days a week.

The best time to do aerobic exercise is when your metabolism is at its most efficient. For some folks, this is early in the morning because this is when they feel energized. However, for those who feel totally drained out in the mornings, a better time would be in the evenings.

Cardio on an empty stomach is a definite no! Doing so shrinks muscles, not fat.

Strength training – Weight training is necessary for a number of reasons. It helps add muscle mass to the body and improves the body’s resting metabolic rate. That is, it ensures that the body becomes a fat burning machine. Furthermore, it strengthens the bones, muscles and tendons.

It is important to train all the major muscle groups of the body. However, muscles become strong when they are rested after vigorous training. Therefore, it is necessary to alternate workout with proper rest.

The best way to lose weight is to combine proper eating habits with an effective exercise regime. This way, weight loss becomes quicker, and it becomes possible to become fit for life.

It is extremely important to have fat as a part of our diet. It is recommended that a healthy diet contain 20-35% of calories coming from fat. Now, what do I mean by fat. I mean, Natural Healthy Fats.

Uncooked Olive Oil/Sunflower Oil- You can use it as a salad dressing with balsamic vinegar and lemon juice. This will add great flavour to nearly any type of salad. Especially Spinach Salads with goat cheese.

Belly Fat – How To Manage Belly Fat

April 4th, 2011 § 0

Introduction

Many men must deal with getting rid of belly fat. But how do you go about doing it? First we need to understand where it comes from, what are the problems with belly fat and then we can determine ways to get rid of it and keep it off.

Where Belly Fat Comes From

Doing research on this I found one article stated that it is more prevalent in women than men. I would disagree with this because I think women pack on their excess weight on their backside, while men collect it around the belly.

Your fat can comes from many places such as hormonal changes in your body, hereditary, weight gain as you age, sitting behind a desk at work and not getting any physical exercise, and the big one is poor diet because of a poor selection of food choices.

Problems With Belly Fat

Besides making you not look good, belly fat can also cause health problems. Such health problems as:

  • Hypertension – This is just another word for high blood pressure.
  • Heart Disease- This can lead to many problems with the main one being heart attack. This is one of the main killers of both men and women.
  • Diabetes- This is Type 2 Diabetes, which develops in adults and comes from various sources, with obesity being the main source.

These are the main health problems you can develop when you collect all this fat.

Stopping Belly Fat

If you get to the point where you notice you are developing fat, there are certain steps you can take to stop it and even remove it. Here is what you need to do:

  • Exercise- This not only will remove your fat but also give you better health. I belong to a health club and ride a stationary bike for about 50 minutes at about 17 miles per hour. So if you get on a stationary bike, make an effort at it. Also I lift weights for about 20 to 30 minutes. All this is done six days a week.
  • Diet- Also important in losing belly fat, in fact if you just exercise, you will probably keep your belly fat. Your diet should consist of plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, poultry and fish. I also take Omega-3 for their essential fatty acids, which have been proven to help you lose fat when you also include exercise.

Belly Fat – Lose That Belly Fat

March 23rd, 2011 § 0

Introduction

If you have belly fat around your stomach and been doing sit ups and other stomach exercises, I would suspect that you still have that belly fat if that is all you did. What you have is a muscular stomach under that belly fat.

Causes Of Belly Fat

Some of the reasons you may be seeing an increase in belly fat are:

  • Metabolism – As we age, our metabolism slows down which means we burn less calories, allowing for fat to build up around our bellies.
  • Lack of Exercise – As we age we get busy with family life, work and other adult activities and we do not have time to exercise. Lack of exercise will allow for us to increase our belly fat.
  • Diet – Our diet has changed over the last 100 years. More snacks and processed foods and less fresh foods such as vegetables and fruits, lead to larger bellies.

Lose Belly Fat

So we know that belly fat is caused by our lower metabolism, lack of exercise and our diet. We cannot do much about our lower metabolism except exercise more. But we can do something about our diet.

Diet – Lets start and look at your diet. You can start by eliminating snacks that you consume. Next step is to look at eating smaller meals but more often. Instead of eating three big meals a day try eating five smaller meals a day.

In these five smaller meals, make sure they are healthy. Some suggestions are to cut out process foods and eat more fresh foods, whole grains, poultry and fish. Try to eliminate anything that contains saturated fats, but has the unsaturated fats such as Omega-3 found in cold-water fish.

Exercise – When you develop an exercise program ensure you have a cardio program along with a weight-training program. For example, my program consists of a fifty-minute stationary bike ride, followed by thirty minutes of weight training, six days a week.

Results

By changing my diet to five small meals a day and following the exercise program I described, in eight months I went from a pant size 38 to 33. Plus I lost 20 pounds and I feel good.

Conclusion

If you are struggling with belly fat, look at changing your diet to a more wholesome diet with smaller meal size, but more meals. Also increase your metabolism by developing your own exercise program.

Walter Chase made a life style change when he was 35. When that happened he started taking supplements, exercising, which included weight lifting and running. Walter started taking Omega – 3 supplements five years ago and has seen many positive benefit. Belly Fat And How To Lose It

March 22nd, 2011 § 0

So many of us look in the mirror to find that we are developing more and more around our middles. Belly Fat is unsightly and embarrassing. Why do our bodies have to build up fat there? Well, it is time that you did something about it, but if you are like me you have tried a number of diets, exercise, and countless other fads that really didn’t make any headway against that awful belly fat.

What I found, may surprise you. I found that I was building belly fat by the foods that I was eating. I always thought that losing weight meant eating less food! I was wrong, it has more to do with eating the right foods.

Obesity is a hugely growing problem world-wide, but especially in the United States. The fast-food epidemic has hit full-force here and is wreaking havoc on all side. There are two big culprits, and other little ones. One is refined sugar and the other is processed wheat flour. What you will find is that most boxed foods (including breakfast cereals, pre-prepared foods, and boxed mixes) have refined sugar as one of the largest ingredients. The problem with refined sugar is that it has been stripped of all of the natural fiber and nutrients that came with it naturally. The refined sugar is turned instantly into fatty acids and shipped through our bodies to act as energy for our muscles and cells. But, if there is no immediate need, they are stored as fat for use at a future time. Those fat stores just keep getting bigger. Processed wheat flour is the same way, the fiber and other needed additives are stripped away, and the carbs that we get from eating those foods are turned immediately into fatty acids.

The problem with cutting sugar and processed flour from your diet, is first most every boxed food has it, and secondly it leaves you feeling very deprived. The sugar and or carb cravings usually win out and people who start losing weight on many diets that reduce or remove sugar and refined flour, find that they gain it right back because they are always satisfying the cravings, that just don’t go away.

That’s where the carb-swap idea comes in. Replacing foods that you normally eat with foods that have whole wheat, whole grains and are sugar-free. Those foods are hard to find and many can’t be found at your standard grocery store. But, Jorge Cruise has done the research for you and found lots of nutritious foods that can help you lose four to nine pounds per week. The amazing thing about it is that it happens without the cravings and can be a real lifestyle change that produces a permanent loss of belly fat.

Look at this set of foods in the Belly Fat Cure Starter Kit. Give them a try, and see yourself in smaller waist size soon. Are you eating enough belly fat burning foods?

Lose Fat in 30 Days Through Exercise

March 17th, 2011 § 0

Weight loss and fat loss don’t just happen overnight and it doesn’t just happen by eating healthier. Sure, anyone can lose a few pounds by eliminating soda from the diet and eating more fruits and vegetables, but what is missing? Exercise is an important part of any diet or fat loss plan, and you cannot have one without the other.

Exercising keeps the body moving, which is necessary in order to burn calories. Without burning calories there is very rarely any weight loss. The only people who typically lose weight without little effort are people who suffer from hyperthyroidism! Their heart rate is high, and drives their body through shaking and movement which burns energy fast leaving them fatigued rather than healthy.

It is possible to lose fat in 30 days through exercise, but not everyone can exercise the same way. Walking for one hour a day nonstop is easy to do, and it’s easy on the joints. Not everyone can go into the gym for four or five hours a day and work out, but this isn’t really necessary. To get fit and stay fit, light cardiovascular exercise is beneficial and really helps to shape the body.

Many who suffer from arthritis and conditions like fibromyalgia know that walking is very helpful and less stressful to the body. Proper stretching is also necessary to keep the body loose and ready to exercise and move at any time. Stretching can also help eliminate tightness in the joints, which in turn will prevent injury from occurring.

Pilates is another form of exercise that can help you lose fat in 30 days. Exercise shouldn’t be the same everyday otherwise you will lose interest. Keeping a fresh routine going is a great idea in order to keep you interested. Pilates is strenuous in certain areas, but is still easy on the joints since most of it is floor work. Stretching is still essential to the Pilates workout since many of the movements are tight and sharp.

When you start losing weight through diet and exercise, this really helps ease pressure on your joints, studies have proved that some people could be adding 10-15 years onto their age causing joint problems earlier in life and this is mainly down to weight.

You can lose weight in 30 days through exercise, but no one can make the decision for you. It’s time to get moving!

Lose Fat in 30 Days Through Diet

March 17th, 2011 § 0

Losing weight is all everyone talks about, but losing fat is the real issue. Losing fat means that the fat tissue around our organs is being minimized, and means that we can live in better health. Losing fat through diet is possible, but knowing how to lose fat with diet isn’t always going to be what the latest trend is. Losing fat means eating healthy and good nutritional supplementation.

When I talk about trends, what I am talking about are dangerous antics that promise weight loss in 7 to 10 days, by using a magic pill that steals all the carbs out of the body or claims to eat your fat. This just isn’t good sense, and simply doesn’t exist. There is no substitute for good nutrition, and good nutrition should be defined before anyone decides to follow a weight loss program of any kind.

Keep in mind that the focus is truly fat loss, and there is a difference between the two. Weight loss is initially pretty simple, in that many of us begin to lose several pounds due to water weight gain. This happens when we have a high intake of sodas, or other sugary drinks or we consume products that are high in sodium. So, once these are removed the body will eliminate excess water resulting in weight loss.

There are natural foods that anyone can buy that can help reduce belly fat, and these foods are good natural fruits and vegetables. Processed foods are high in preservatives, and these can really pack on the pounds. Meats that come from animals injected with antibiotics are absorbed into the tissues of the body and aid in expanding the fat cells. This may be shocking, but true.

Fat loss generates true weight loss, and weight loss equals better health for everyone. Following a natural diet, rich in fruits and vegetables will keep fiber in the diet to keep the body removing excess waste, and allowing the body to absorb nutrients. Drinking more water will also keep the kidneys flushed, and isn’t loaded with sugar or other chemicals or preservatives. These are simple ideas to help achieve fat loss in 31 days.

Sticking to doing all these things will dramatically change the way you feel and your lifestyle, making you perk up more and enjoying everyday even more for the sake of a few changes all for the better. Feel free to check out the site below for more information.
