Gluten Sensitivity Symptoms seem to be on the rise for Americans and for those in other parts or the world that eat a Western type diet. A diet typical to the western hemisphere is one that leans heavily on a dependence of wheat. Within that wheat lies a gluten protein which seems to cause some people to experience gluten sensitivity symptoms. The most noticeable Gluten Sensitivity Symptom is found with discomfort of the digestive system. Extensive research has been conducted on those suffering from a condition known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. In many, but not all of the cases of IBS an intolerance for gluten ended up being the culprit. However, Gluten Sensitivity Symptoms are not limited solely to Irritable Bowel Syndrome or to the digestive tract. If you are one of the millions whose body cannot process gluten properly, then you can experience a whole host of discomforts as a result of gluten intolerance. The encouraging news it that by identifying, and then treating, this intolerance to wheat products and/or gluten it can lead to huge improvements in your health. The systems in your body which can be affected by gluten intolerance include: Digestive System, Emotional, Head Related, Skin Related, Overall Physical Well-being, Brain or Neurological Systems, Respiratory System, Issues specific to Women’s Health, Musculoskeletal System, Autoimmune System, Chromosomal Defects, Malignancies and Cancer Issues, along with several miscellaneous categories. With over 200 problems discovered so far which are associated with gluten intolerance, it’s no wonder why so many people are looking for alternatives for Gluten in their diet. So the question is just begging to be asked: Why are some people sensitive to Gluten, a natural protein found in one of the most abundant foods, and others not? Well, that’s the million dollar question that scientists and medical professionals would also love to find an answer for. That, along with the winning numbers for the next lottery drawing! The answer probably lies somewhere in the web of genetics, medical history, health profile, and perhaps even the genetic makeup of the food source itself. There is growing concern about what is actually going into and onto our food in the form of herbicides and pesticides. Some would even argue that man was not meant to eat wheat – at least not in its current form. It’s interesting to learn that raw wheat is essentially toxic to humans. If you are one of the millions who suffer gluten sensitivity symptoms then continue to discover the information available on the subject. You can do a little self discovery by experimenting with a gluten free diet and noting any changes that you see or feel. The answer to the age-old question of “What is the best ab workout for losing stomach fat?” is… No! Ab exercise alone don’t build enough of a metabolic response in your body to create fat loss. My opinion on what is some good work outs for losing your belly it would be the following full body work out that will help you build energy and burn calories at the same time. Here are a few exercise that will help you lose that fat around your stomach. Doing squats, dead lifts, bench presses, mountain climbers and dumbbell curves. All these exercises you will need the strength of your stomach muscles to lift the weight. These exercises is better to do instead of ab exercises. you will be getting a all in one work out. And building your metabolism up is the most important thing on your “to do list” Now don’t take this the wrong way I do recommend you do some ab routines but don’t think doing a hundred situps and crunches will get you the you want. There are a number of things you can do to facilitate your weight loss efforts. 1. Eat More Often That’s right you read that correctly, most folks thinks this is a contrary statement with respects to losing weight. But the reality is you need to eat more often and you need to eat the right foods. Rather than noshing on greasy potato chips, have a handful of blueberries. Instead of downing a few doughnuts try an apple or a handful of almonds to satiate your palette. Keep in mind that you should eat every three hours or so, this will help keep you from feeling deprived and you’ll be less likely to gorge yourself. 2. Have More Fruit And Vegetables Increasing your consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables is vital to proper nutritional sustenance. Fruits and vegetables help fill you up without filling you out. Apples and oranges, blueberries and banana are but a few choices you can consider. Broccoli and spinach, carrots and green beans are all loaded with vitamins and minerals. Packed with fiber as well to make you feel full longer. 3. Drink Plenty of Water The best beverage on the planet is water and you can have as much as you want. And you should want plenty. Water keeps you hydrated and helps to flush waste from your system. Additionally on many an occasion we can mistake thirst for hunger, grabbing something to eat when in fact a glass of water would have fulfilled our needs. 4. Keep A Food Journal Many of us would be amazed at how much we are consuming and the poor quality of our food choices. By keeping a food journal we can keep track of what we are eating and become more mindful of our food choices. And preparing a journal will allow you to chart a course to follow to meet your dietary needs. 5. Work Out No weight loss effort is complete with out increasing physical activity. Get on the tread mill, take a walk to market rather than driving all the time. If you live in an apartment with an elevator get of one floor early and walk up one floor. When coming home from work if the weather allows get of the train or bus one stop from home and walk the rest of the way. These are but a few steps you can take to lose weight for summer. Weight Loss For Men Over 50 Is Accomplished Through Nutrition And Adequate Protein Intake
February 28th, 2011 § 0
As men age weight loss becomes a challenge and it’s especially tough for men over 50. Changes in our bodies reduce lean muscle mass and lower our RMR-Resting Metabolic Rate-causing an accumulation of fat. This change is gradual and may not even register on the scale or tape measure right away. But the time clothing begins to tighten up and larger numbers register on the scale the process is already well on its way.. This onset of weight gain brings a predictable series of symptoms that will eventually develop into one or more chronic diseases. It is possible to reverse this weight gain with proper nutrition and close attention to protein intake. Healthy activity and balanced nutrition, along with portion control, are keys to reverse weight gain for men over 50. The purpose of this article is to explain why protein is important for weight loss in men over 50 and why so many of us miss the mark. Protein is a building block of the body. Not just muscle, but connective tissues and organs all depend on a supply of protein in order to maintain themselves. When we don’t get enough the body goes after protein stores in muscles. For men over 50 this means that not only are they losing lean muscle mass to the natural processes that come with aging, but they are losing lean muscle mass as a result of poor nutrition as well. Our modern diet does not promote adequate protein consumption and often what protein we do eat is accompanied by unhealthy fat levels or carbohydrates that the body converts to fat. Most men need between 150-180 grams of protein on a daily basis yet most get around one half of that amount. A body composition analysis will help you figure your personal protein requirements. Knowing your personal numbers will make it possible to map out an effective nutrition plan. We can get protein from two sources. Animal protein including red meats, poultry and fish are legitimate sources. One of the challenges of turning to these protein sources is the fat that may accompany them. Fatty red meats or poultry and fish prepared with heavy oils or sauces or breaded and fried are poor choices. Dairy is also a source of animal protein. Milk, eggs, yogurt, cheese and other dairy staples are all good examples and fat is still a concern. When turning to animal protein sources go for lean cuts of red meat-these often need marinating or slow cooking for tenderness-and prepare poultry and fish without excessive fats by baking or broiling. Beans are an excellent source of protein as are a number of other vegetables. Plus these sources of vegetable protein also offer the added benefit of fiber. Another popular source of non-animal protein are soy and whey protein. These send themselves to being added to other foods to boost protein content and to “protein shakes” as meal replacements. The ideal balance is half of protein requirements from animal sources and half from vegetable sources. For men over 50 the best approach is to calculate caloric requirements and build a healthy meal plan around those numbers. Getting the proper amount of balanced, healthy protein will support creation of lean muscle mass reverse weight gain or maintain healthy weight and tone. Raw Food Diet Weight Loss – 3 Ways the Natural Diet Slims You Down Fast
February 28th, 2011 § 0
The incredible weight loss benefits of the raw foods diet stem from several excellent characteristics of natural food: It’s clean: Raw organic produce is 100% free of the harmful toxins found in inorganic produce and all cooked and processed foods. A key way the body deals with an intake of too many toxins is by storing them as fats! It surrounds dangerous toxins with fatty membranes to protect the rest of the body and they end up on your belly. It’s packed with vital nutrients: People waste so much time with “calorie counting.” The most important thing isn’t how many calories you eat but rather what kind of calories you eat. A meal of fresh fruits and vegetables might have as many calories as a slice of cake. But because the cake is deficient in vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids, the body doesn’t get a substantial dose of nutrients. In response your metabolism slows down and more of what you eat ends up being stored as fat. Raw food has the opposite effect. Flooding the body with uncooked, unaltered vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals makes the body fire up your metabolism so you all nutrients go to energizing you immediately and you burn fat rapidly. It digests itself: The reason you hear raw food being called “living food” is because it’s abundant of enzymes. These metabolic workers are industrious helpers to anyone trying to lose weight. They literally break raw meals down inside you so that your body doesn’t have to waste its own enzymes. When enzymes break down your meals and vital raw nutrients flood your body, virtually nothing is stored as fat – so you shed pounds effortlessly. Why cooked food ends up on your waistline: Unfortunately, all the wonderful benefits of natural-state foods are destroyed or even reversed in the cooking process.
The science behind raw food weight loss is rock-solid. Nature is really the best dietitian – ever notice that no wild animals are overweight? Struggling with your weight is just a result of eating damaged and deficient cooked foods. So why not discover the proven for rapid slimming and ideal weight maintenance? Avoid next week’s regret of making zero progress toward your dream figure. It’s as easy as learning the simple steps to losing a pound a day or more on the . You could be seven pounds lighter in just one week. That’s inches off the waistline and a reason to look in the mirror with pride.
Crazy Workout to Lose Weight
February 28th, 2011 § 0
Ok, so I had a workout this week where I only had about 20 minutes at the gym because I had to get out of there to make sure I had time to meet an appointment after the workout. Since I only had 20 minutes, I knew this had to be a super-focused high-intensity workout. You’ll never believe the SIMPLICITY of this workout, while at the same time, being one of the most intense workouts you could imagine. No cardio. No sissies for this one! Here’s what I did for 20-minutes straight: –Alternated Dumbbell squat & presses with pullups. That’s it… plain and simple! So I would do a set of HEAVY dumbbell squat & presses, followed immediately by a set of pullups… then back to the squat & presses, and so on… for 20 minutes… with very little rest in between sets! This combo works great because you’re working the entire opposite muscle groups for one exercise while you’re resting the muscle groups worked on the opposing exercise. And you don’t even need a pullup bar to do this super-effective combination. You could alternate the dumbbell squat & presses with bent over dumbbell rows if you don’t have access to pullups, or can’t do pullups. As simple as this workout sounds — just 2 compound exercises supersetted with each other for 20 minutes straight… it is pretty damn intense if you do it right! Sometimes, when you have a time restriction on your workout, this helps to assure that you make your work the maximum possible intensity since you know you have a time limit. Although I don’t do this style of workout all of the time, it is a nice challenging variation to keep the workouts fresh and keep the results coming. Give it a try sometime if you’re strapped for time and need a good idea for high intensity! If you are serious about getting a six pack, follow the link below to receive instant access to FREE information that will get you on the path to uncovering that six pack that is beneath that fat layer.
